BREAKING: President Vladimir Putin warns new Russian weapons will target US if it deploys missiles to Europe.


Russia will respond to any US deployment of short or intermediate-range nuclear weapons in Europe by targeting not only the countries where they are stationed, but the United States itself, President Vladimir Putin says.

In his toughest remarks yet on a potential new arms race, Mr Putin on Wednesday said Russia was not seeking confrontation and would not take the first step to deploy missiles in response to Washington’s decision this month to quit a landmark Cold War-era arms control treaty.

But he said that Russia’s reaction to any deployment would be resolute and that US policymakers, some of whom he said were obsessed with US exceptionalism, should calculate the risks before taking any steps.

10. This is in response to Dump pulling us out of the treaty.

After the treaty, most of the intermediate ranged missiles were removed or set to no target.

If we deploy intermediate ranged missiles in Europe, they will in turn deploy intermediate ranged missiles and capital targeting them.

Putin is signaling Europe, not the US, basically this; don't deploy any nukes, and neither will I. He's basically making himself look like the grown up in the room...not hard to do against Trump.

This pushes more resentment against the US and NATO.

The next question is, will Dump demand to deploy them and will NATO countries allow it? GWB expanded NATO too fast and too recklessly, all you need is one nation go rogue and allow the deployment. Then the choice is another cold war or find another solution.
