after his announcement. And most of it from small donors.
Like it or not, at this point in time he should be considered the front runner.

(118,359 posts)Trump, at 72, seems to have very little sustained physical and mental energy
Reagan, almost 78 when he left office, required careful press handling to keep his cognitive deficits secret
Sanders, if elected, would be 79 at the start of his term: even if he is intellectually fine, the 24/7 nature of the job would be very difficult to sustain

(55,445 posts)And I'll always remember for all his big talk about wanting to fight Trump and turn the party around, he didn't lift a fucking finger to help us in Virginia in the '17 races...

(16,482 posts)I just happened to be scrolling by and saw the flippant, whitesplaining response you vomited out and felt it was so disgusting it needed to be addressed. The line about creating your own reality is rich though. I guess you dont do irony.
Kentonio
(4,377 posts)Ok, I can play too. So you think its whitesplaining to point out that someones anecdotal opinion doesnt actually stand up to examination? Interesting. Any random bullshit claims youd like to make yourself that cant be questioned due to us being a different race?

(31,261 posts)Some of the people that JUST entered a presidential primary already have made public years worth of returns.
Why would a person who passes himself off as a common man for common people not do anything but enthusiastically release his tax returns?
Kentonio
(4,377 posts)But as he only entered the race 2 days ago, I think theres plenty of time.

(14,249 posts)started winning primaries. And when they talked about her being the frontunner before the primaries based on her fundraising and polls, we were bombarded with cries of "She can't BUY the nomination" and "Queen Hillary is expecting a CORONATION!""
But now ... not we're supposed to hail Bernie as the frontrunner a year before the first primary because he had a good fundraising day?
Tom Rinaldo
(22,917 posts)... unlike this time around. The only honest debate was over who considered Hillary the literal presumptive nominee, when and why.
It is way too soon in this cycle to call anyone the front runner. The situation is way too fluid. People can have fun trying to assign brackets if they want, such as "Top Tier", but that is just a game political junkies play.

However, fundraising has little to do with who is the front-runner. Right now, there isn't one. I'll check again later.

(112,467 posts)but I believe that he has about $9 million from his Senate campaign fund that he can transfer into the presidential race. That gives him a huge head start over the other candidates.

I and many other people I know here in California plan to donate to Kamala Harris and now will do it sooner...
My plan had been to also wait till we are further along in the primaries to donate to the frontrunner. Also waiting for Biden and whoever else will enter...

(7,412 posts)Latest polls I have seen have Biden around 30% among Democratic primary voters and Bernie is usually around 20%. Harris and Warren are 3rd and 4th typically at around 10%.
I think once Biden declares he will jump up to about 40% support nationwide. How the other candidates and media decide to attack him will be telling, might turn a few people off to him but he starts with a solid base of support the others don't have except for Bernie.

We have alot of cleaning up with have to do in USA.. The far right has become a disease infecting large chunks of USA.
Propaganda by Fox news and the likes are the root cause.

(22,917 posts)"Top Tier Candidate" comes a little closer to being somewhat meaningful as long as that term is flexible and all acknowledge that a hell of a lot can change before the first debates, let alone the actual primaries.

(4,484 posts)When he leads in the polls, then he will be the front runner. Until then, he's just the guy with the most rabid base.
