I am in shock! A rabid tRump supporter friend on Facebook just posted:

“Maybe it’s time to abandon ship before the next election cycle.” When asked why by another friend, he said, “It’s like taking a shower behind a manure spreader.” 😂😂😂

Yeah, the quote doesn't seem quite right; reality indicates the GOP base relishes the manure spreader as their showerhead.

A cannoli full of shit and then just the ends stuffed with cream so as to conceal the poo.

But when you bite into it expecting to savor the delicious flavors you find you have a mouth full of shit,... and then you realize you were totally deceived.

The only thing to expect from this kitchen is adulterated food. If you are ever hungry -avoid this kitchen and avoid this so called chef - because everything on the menu is a toxic surprise and you will only get sick eating there. And they have the nerve to charge triple the standard price.

One of those pastries is a canalo! More than one are canoli!
I got corrected by grandpa more than once when I was a little kid.
He reminded me "Uno canolo, degli canoli!"
Not picking on you. Everybody does it. My wife says it and she knows the difference!

I'll remember to spring that bit of Italiano on everyone next time we have canoli as I'm eating my canalo!

I do the same thing to people who say "pasta fazool" - I tell them it's pasta e fagioli.

I remember back when I was naive in the earlier days of DU back in 2004 - I had co-workers announcing they hated Bush and were voting Kerry throughout the summer of 2004. A bunch of people on DU had similar experiences. I thought Kerry would win - and I'm normally a big pessimist: anything that can go wrong, will.

Then, Bush still ended up winning (ok, Ohio was probably stolen, but it was still close enough to steal...)

However, these co-workers later admitted to still voting for Bush because Fox News and the RW media had gotten them so scared of Kerry that last month or two before that election that they felt like they had to vote Bush. I suspect it was similar with many other people here on DU - people swearing they would not vote Bush 4-6 months before the election, but then reluctantly voting Bush in the end.

I think it will be the same with Trump.

For every Trumpster to whom the Mueller investigation makes them madder and madder at how long it is taking (ie. how long the Deep State is persecuting their Dear Leader), and only proves they must have nothing on him....there is another that the daily grind of the ongoing investigation, and the arrests and indictments along the way, are helping to convince some that where there's smoke there may be fire.

The Republican Party has taken its hard stand behind him. They even circled the wagons around him for the primary. There's nowhere else for a Republican to go.

Hard core Republicans may sit out the election, but most are not going to vote for a liberal, IMO. But if they sit out the election, that may be good enough.

At least one has jumped ship. A second is threatening to, if there is proof Trump was involved with Epstein's sex trafficking of minors (although I'm not sure what he would accept as proof, so I'm not holding my breath).

The first one, who's already seen the light, has been a federal employee and dealt with several shutdowns, and has spent some time recently learning how economies actually work. He's done.
