1. I am sorry about your pain.

Sorry someone has added Fox on top of it.

2. I hope when you are treated and feeling better that you will contact administration to complain

You can't tell me that they don't know how problematic this is and, like many public spaces could decide to block it.

3. Good suggestion.

I did that in a grocery store back during the W. years and guess what? I never saw it on their big screen TV again. Never. I have to assume that others must have complained, because I'm just one person.

Sometimes establishments need to be told this.

5. Insult to injury...

Escape to a place of your happiest moments, concentrate on that. Take a mental vacation.
Feel better soon.

6. I hope you get treated soon

and given something for pain relief. Ask to have the channel changed to non news, or better yet, turned off.

7. Ask them to turn it off. A person can only endure so much.

Hope you feel better.

8. I am so sorry you are in pain.

This will end. There will be a time after. And then you will laugh about how stupid Fox sounded.

9. Tell someone in charge.

It may actually be against their policy for non-staff to change the TV.

Suggest something neutral like the Weather Channel or a food show.
Some hospitals & clinics have an in house channel to acquaint visitors
with what they do and what they offer.

18. Ditto that. Food show, home improvement,

Weather, kids' programming, anything but fux news.

I would never turn a waiting room tv to msnbc, only because i know it would bother other people who might be in pain.

19. Recently most of the doctor's offices I have been in have been on the Weather Channel

Which is a good, non-controversial choice.

When I reported to the Registration for one of my surgeries, they had the TV on the Food Channel. It was torture, especially for those of us who had been fasting in preparation for procedures. I made a comment and a month later when I reported for my next surgery, it was on the Weather Channel. I made sure to thank them!

11. How dreadful

Being in the ER is miserable enough. I wish theyd get rid of all TVs in public areas.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

12. ask the person behind the front desk to turn it to non-politics

I agree with everyone else.

I hope you are okay, soon (and it's not too serious).

13. That's horrible, I hope you feel better. I've been in some places now where they lock the channel on

for example, Home and Garden TV or something more neutral than Fox type crap. Hope you feel better soon!!!

14. Go to the desk and ask to change the channels. It worked at the VA in Temple. I haven't seen a ...

Fox news broad cast in several years there, it used to be on all TV all the time.

17. Yeah, let somebody know.

The AMA leans to the right, but allied health personnel tend to lean to the left. I'm sure there is a nurse or a medical assistant who would be happy to turn the channel, or turn it off altogether.
