I'm assuming Manafort could immediately be taken into custody in New York.
And if so, could his prior convictions be the basis for New York holding him without bail?

There would already be arrangements beforehand, including guidelines as to his movements.

The pardon just keeps him from being punished for his crimes, it doesn't vacate the crimes he was convicted for!
