Still In Wisconsin

Wisconsin returns to STUPID and elects far, far right evangelical Christian to Supreme Court.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Justice Brian Hagedorn. If you're on DU, Brian Hagedorn almost assuredly hates you.

Gay? Have a gay friend? A gay child you haven't disowned? Brian Hagedorn HATES you. He helped found a Christian school that fires teachers and expels students for being gay.

Had a baby out of wedlock? Poor? Receive any kind of public assistance? Brian Hagedorn HATES you. He loves your fetus but your baby's freeloading.

Jewish? Muslim? Buddhist? Atheist? Agnostic? Christian but not fundamentalist? Brian Hagedorn REALLY REALLY HATES YOU! He has stated that freedom of religion includes freedom for Christians to harass, fire, verbally assault and basically destroy every member of every other faith (or non-faith).

Got raped? Had an abortion? Brian Hagedorn hates you and thinks you should die! He has stated that the constitution would allow for a law to be passed that calls for the death penalty for a doctor performing an abortion or a woman receiving one... were such a law to be passed in, say, Wisconsin, wink wink.

Basically unless you are a far-right white fundamentalist God-fearing evangelical exactly like him, Brian Hagedorn hates you.

So, while signs of hope spring up around the rest of the Rust Belt, we cheeseheads once again prove we're too fucking stupid to have nice things. I hereby propose that if we ever have another nuclear weapon test, it be carried out over this fucking state I call home.

That is all.

3. How did this happen? Simple. We're a state full of Christians and stupid inbred rednecks.

In other words a red state. Wisconsin is Madison and Milwaukee with Alabama in between, and Milwaukee can't be bothered to vote in non-presidential elections.

We went for Trump in 2016 for Chrissakes. Does any more need to be said? God, I hope I die before I have to live here too much longer. Can't move because I have kids in school who really don't want to, and aging parents to care for.

10. Most states are like this. Blue states just have more and larger cities.

How was Democratic turnout? This is usually where the problem is.

v

What a colossal dirtball.

What an affliction for the whole state. He looks like a person with far too much idle time on his hands, and itching to get into everyone's business.

4. Yep, that's our boy. Yet another Christian in a position of power.

God help anyone who doesn't agree with his narrow interpretation of what it means to be a lab abiding citizen.

6. There are basically only two significant parts of this state that aren't deep red:

Madison and Milwaukee. It's a little like Pennsylvania: there's Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, then there's everything else. Turnout in Madison was characteristically good. In Milwaukee it was abysmal. The Christians come out in force, though. Every. Fucking. Time.

We need to keep counting! I'm sure we can find 6k votes somewhere.
