I have an alternative on why all those positions are remaining unfilled

No one who can pass through a Senate confirmation hearing is willing to take them.

1. That is more than just a theory

that is reality. It saves all the "hassle" of going through the process and fills the job on a "temporary" basis

2. Just looking at the now departed Secretary of Homeland Security

Where is she going to work?

There isn't a University that is about to hire her. There aren't going to be corporations looking to bring her on with the controversy it would create. Publicly 50% of the country looks at her as the woman who put toddlers in dog cages.

Even a future in republican politics is impossible as he took a giant shit on her as he was showing her the door.

She literally sold out her entire future for a 15 month gig?

3. She'll land. The repubs take care of their own

She'll probably land at a conservative think tank that specializes in anti-imigration policy. In fact, they will like that trumpft thought she wasn't mean enough, means they can say "hey, see, we're not as bad as trumpft" while pushing horrible policies.

5. Nothing respectable though

Sure she'll get a paycheck somewhere but it isn't the typical life ex cabinet officials live.

4. I'm sure she'll turn up as a "consultant" someplace, or a lobbyist

Wherever it is, she'll fly under the radar.

6. She's a natural fit for the private prison industry

Or Betsy DeVos will hire her to sell all the kidnapped migrant children

Tear gas company CEO

Propagandist for Der Sturmer

One door shuts, but now literally thousands of windows open for the Nazi monster

14. Someone Should Keep an Eye Out for Her

Someone needs to keep an eye out and see who hires here and then start a campaign to make sure the public is aware of where she lands.

than she cared about those poor kids on the border.

12. I think he is trying to invalidate the 25th amendment

by not having enough cabinet members to kick his crazy ass out of office.

13. They need to put some sort of time limit on

how long they can be acting to circumvent this.

16. That's true, but it's not why the positions are remaining unfilled

Trump never wanted a Cabinet at all. He would much prefer having a staff of "actings" that rubber-stamp everything Jared and Ivanka tell them to do.

17. One reason...he wants to brag about $$ saved by

reducing regulation and how much that saves. By not appointing management, new (probably needed) regs are not introduced.

In addition he is trying to ( or may have already) disallowed allowing $$ gained by regulation. So in the cost benefit analyses, all you have is cost, which trump can add to his phony total pile when he eliminates.

If we have a Dem who is looking at all this, they need to be our nominee.
