Then go up line, we're technically getting close to a dictator ship with these guys saying go to hell on every request and Moscow Mitch not holding Red Don to account.

That source makes clear that the Treasury Secretary is the correct respondent. You’re saying it had nothing to do with Treasury.

Try citing one that says anything like “That regulation with SHALL makes no reference to Treasury”

The regulation specifically refers to the Treasury Secretary.

It says “the Secretary shall”

Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request...

If anything... they could spin that the request didn’t go to the right person.

Or they just didn’t want Mnuchin involved.

Maybe they have reason to think IRS would be more likely to give them what they want... but that’s a tough sell when their case depends on a plain reading of the text.

And I have little faith how that will turn out. It certainly won't happen quickly.

Ask yourself this - Why do you think Neal wants them in the first place?
