Senior Army NCO (who is also black and female) arrested after acting in self defense...
A Fort Knox sergeant is going on the offensive after being charged with a crime she says she didn’t commit.
Police charged Kai Waters, 33, with felony assault in connection to a road rage incident in Elizabethtown in February. Waters says she now has proof that she was not the aggressor. She spoke with WAVE 3 News, claiming Elizabethtown police who arrived on scene assumed she was the attacker because of her age and race before looking at all the evidence. .... Fort Knox LTC Alicia Masson sent WAVE 3 News the following statement on behalf of Waters: “SFC Waters is a professional and was chosen from our entire field to come to Fort Knox and represent our Corps after an intense vetting process. She is a trusted leader and this turn of events is in total contradiction to her performance and character. I understand the police department has a job to do but now that the truth is seen by video that our Soldier was attacked, I hope there will be swift correction to this situation and her rights returned. I stand behind her and am anxious for justice.” http://www.wave3.com/2019/04/10/fort-knox-leaders-stand-by-sergeant-charged-stabbing-our-soldier-was-attacked/ ____________________ At least the Army is standing behind her. There is literal video of this NCO defending herself. WTF is going on in Kentucky?

1. That woman is lucky as shit
SFC Waters is trained in hand to hand combat and could have easily destroyed her. I hope Waters sues her ass for false arrest.

7. I don't know about that first part...
She'll be lucky to keep her career as is.

8. You may be right
Even though this was clearly a case of self defense, it will go on her record. If she stays in, that could mean the difference between a promotion or getting passed over.
She showed tremendous restraint in not pummeling her. |

4. But pulling the knife and using it was a big mistake
Could she have defended herself without the knife, yes. By escalating the type of violence, she presented a deadly threat to the old lady.

5. She stabbed the 58 year old woman aggressor in the leg
She clearly was trying to defend herself without using deadly force.

11. A cop can shoot a child holding a cellphone and yell "I feared for my life"
A guy with a concealed carry permit can follow a teen into a park, shoot him dead, and get away free and clear. But a woman who stabs another woman in the leg, WHILE THE OTHER WOMAN IS ACTIVELY PUNCHING HER IN THE FACE, is going too far?
All it takes is one lucky punch and you're unconscious and completely defenseless. |

9. First off, why did she not get the hell out of the woman's way? Someone is driving like a maniac
behind me - I get out of the way, whether they are right or wrong. It was February, but her windows were open so the woman could yell at her? Close the damn window. I suspect words were being exchanged by both parties.
Then at the gas station, stay in your car till the cops get there. The video could be seen a couple ways. Not to mention, I’m sure she simply could have run from the woman; I imagine she is faster since she is younger, slimmer, and in the military. Run into the store. Certainly both were at fault, but the sergeant could have sued better judgment imo. |

10. This is outrageous
The young woman was in no way at fault here.
Kentucky, though... |
