Very True. There's also a very low chance Democrats will flip the Senate if Manchin flips Republican Tom Rinaldo Apr 2019 #2

No they wouldn't. The most important vote Manchin casts in every Congress is for Majority leader n/t Tom Rinaldo Apr 2019 #7

He knows full well that Schumer would never back a Republican against him. The least Manchin can do is afford our candidate against Collins the same courtesy.

I also agree with those that said what a right-leaning Senator from West Virginia has to say about Collins carries less weight in Maine than the opinion of a local moose.

To give them money so he's seriously out of step with the party line.

At the Senate map, we are at a big disadvantage. Big tent is essential or we won't advance policy or equally important put judges on the bench including SCOTUS.

We here can be rightfully furious with him, it's an activist board. But the Democratic Party can't come down too hard on Manchin or we could drive him out of the Democratic Party altogether. Arlan Specter flipping from Republican to Democrat is how Democrats once regained the Senate before.

to him at this point is utterly ridiculous and counter-productive, in addition to being a complete waste of energy, drawing it away from attempts to take that seat away from Susan Collins.

like why the fuck would anyone in Maine care what Manchin has to say ?

if it was Kentucky or other right wing leaning state i can maybe see him helping.

It doesn't do anything for him in his own state, and nobody in Maine is going to give a rats ass what Manchin says or thinks. The comment was baffling because it doesn't help anybody.

He really likes Susan Collins. I don't think he is a progressive masquerading as a conservative Democrat to get elected but he actually is one. JMO.

And we DON'T like what we went through this tax season.

Your average Maine voter won't even know who Joe Manchin is, let alone care that he has endorsed Susan Collins.

And your average West Virginia voter neither knows nor cares who Susan Collins is. There is a good reason why they say that all politics is local!
