I need to vent about spying on the disabled

Are disabled people not part of our society?

Is it ever alright for the government to actively spy on its people if not related to terrorism or violent crimes?

I am disabled. I have post traumatic stress disorder. I also have spinal problems that cause a lot of pain and limitations. Am I not to search for happiness? Am I not to try to exercise my body? Am I not allowed to try to participate meaningfully in my society?

I do not have Facebook, but there are alot of people who use it to be social and communicate. If someone is smiling in their pictures, does that mean they are "too happy" to have PTSD?

Does this not also imply that the government has no faith in the psychologists and medical doctors who make disability decisions? What about the folks who work for the Social Security office?

I'm offended. Not only for myself and others with limited capabilities. I'm also offended for the medical providers who are having their conclusions second guessed.

The money people receive for their disability goes directly back into our economy. Its spent at local businesses and corporations alike. From paying someone to mow your yard to paying on a credit card. It's worth noting that a majority of the disabled have paid money into Social Security before their activities were limited.

I think I have found my spot on the hill. No one should be wary of trying to LIVE in our society. No one should be scrutinized and judged for having good days. "The king shall not enter...".

It's time to make privacy a PRIORITY again.

Write to your representatives and state your case as you did here. That's all I can say. If you belong to any organizations, ask them to write also. I would think the evaluation of your doctor would be enough. Good Luck

There's so much on my mind that I'm gonna have to calm down and focus.

Gonna start with my state reps and go from there.

The social media spying is an expansion rather than a shocking new possibility of invading the privacy of disabled people.
Personal activity and bodily surveillance are built into our daily lives and especially the processes required for benefits. For some, it begins as part of a daily routine to simply get out of bed. When we interact with medical practitioners and institutions, our minds and bodies are placed on full display with intimate intrusions via medical and psychiatric exams.
AND, our very survival demands that we turn every single bit of it over to the government and the private insurance companies if they partner with.

Trump can spy on us, but he won't turn over his tax forms that he promised.
