What happened to the Notre Dame today feels like a microcosm of what the rethugs are doing to the US

And then to hear that a billionaire has committed $110 million to rebuild -- makes one wonder what kind of catastrophe it will take in the US to pry loose some oligarch cash to do some rebuilding at home.

1. Ancient churches are one thing. There might be some perceived Oligarch salvation there.

Roads, bridges, sewers and other infrastructures not so much salvation.
