Again, this happened ON Good Friday.

The day before was passover (Last Supper to the Christians) and most of them ate, drank and went to the Garden of Gethsemane.

Maundy Thursday is the Christian holy day falling on the Thursday before Easter. It commemorates the foot washing and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles, as described in the canonical gospels. It is the fifth day of Holy Week, preceded by Holy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday.

Unless the plan was that he retire and become a bestselling author. Actually, it would have been a good idea for Jesus to keep his own diary to avoid four mutually conflicting accounts of uncertain authorship (and one of them with a section nobody is really sure should be there).
