(131 posts)I know Kansas City needs it BAD. There were no Mexicans thus no real Mexican foods besides taco bell.
BumRushDaShow
(128,930 posts)we have have those types of food trucks, including the taco ones, but mostly around the colleges and universities (I've yet to find one near where I live in the city). But because of the mushroom industry just outside of the city, there is quite a good-sized Mexican population in the area where the big plants are so I expect the cuisine is available there too (although most of the Hispanics here in the city are Puerto Rican).
NastyRiffraff
(12,448 posts)Everyone knows that. There's no tacos like those on a taco truck!

Wish more Americans didn't think the stuff at Taco Bell was Mexican food.

(9,170 posts)When the US invaded Panama, Noriega took refuge in the Apostolic Nunciature in Panama City. The US troops surrounded it, and blasted Martha and the Vandellas' "Nowhere to Run" day and night. Of course, they didn't bring tacos.
I'm guessing the mariachi music drove Taco Tammy nuts. (It would me. I hate mariachi -- but I love tacos!)

(63,221 posts)I really wanted them but I made my Keto Cobb Salad instead. How is your Keto diet going? I have been on it for 1 week straight.

You're almost over the tough part. The elimination of simple sugars. Expect the Keto Flu to kick in. It lasted about 3 days for me.
Unexpectedly, Popeyes Blackend Chicken Strips (not on the menu and made to order) are 1-2 carbs for 5 strips. Add in Blackened Ranch sauce and you're at around 4-5 carbs. Remember, while you convert your body from processing carbs to fats and proteins, your weight loss is still primarily based on total calories in verses spent. You will get to a point where you don't desire to eat, so really you don't miss much of the foods you eat. I have to force myself to eat to get to the minimum protein levels recommended. I started at 247.5 and I am down to 222.5 pounds. My goal weight is 200.
Also, I suggest taking full spectrum vitamins, and two Swanee products (KETO BHB SALTS & KETO THERMOGENICS). Watch your potassium and iodine levels, and take supplements for those, as needed.

(63,221 posts)So far I have been sticking to mostly no-carb, non-processed foods, so I haven't really been counting carbs. I should take supplements though. Sounds like you have made great progress! Keep up the good work!

(14,856 posts)Make your own taco seasoning, sans sugar and starch. Cooked fajita meat, hot or cold, on salad is very good, too.
