How to talk to MAGAs - another great discussion from Teri Kanefield
Teri Kanefield is becoming one of my "must-reads" for her insight and applicable ideas. I first became a fan after reading her posts about the "Firehose of Outrageousness" strategy employed by Trump and why it works.
Today, she posts some great information on talking to MAGAs. Well worth a read and follow.
Key points:
- A lot of MAGAs are high in authoritarian personality traits - fearful, and desiring "order". RW media keep them in a continuous fear state, so they desire authoritarian leadership to feel safe.
- Facts don't matter, confrontation makes it worse.
- When you talk to them, try to reduce their fear and sense of "otherness". The goal is to deactivate the authoritarian impulse.
