Fox News Town Hall Backfires As The Crowd Nearly Unanimously Supports Medicare For All

From the article:

In a major fail for Fox News as the network held a town hall with Bernie Sanders on Monday, nearly everyone in the bipartisan crowd raised their hands when asked whether they support a “Medicare for All” health care system.

After explaining that the audience is filled with folks of all political ideologies, Fox host Bret Baier first asked the crowd whether they are currently on private health insurance through their jobs, which prompted most hands to go up.

When Baier asked those same people whether they would trade their employer-provided health insurance for a “government-run” system, almost every hand in the crowd remained raised, and many audience members cheered for the idea.

It is a bi-partisan issue. Problems with the US healthcare system are one issue that Democrats can and should use. My suspicion is that many GOP voters know that the GOP has no plans to do anything to change a profit centered system that rewards politicians so well.

recognizes the terrible performance of the US system.

FOX must make certain to choose the audience more carefully.

Should somebody tell them it'll never happen while Repukes control the Senate? Nah, let'em figure it out. It'll be a good brain-game for them.

Maybe nobody in the crowd heard the dog whistle that all things government are evil. You know, like how private pension funds that can be raided at whim have Social Security beat all hollow?

Nassar, who was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, said afterward he didn’t think America should intervene in foreign affairs unless it directly effects our national security.

“I do believe he is America first,” Nassar said of Sanders.

Nassar said he voted for Sanders in the 2016 primary, and was open-minded coming into Monday night’s event. He estimated about 70 percent of the audience was supportive of Sanders.

Sanders was actually their second choice. Both are populists but from different ends of the political spectrum. That economic populism message continues to resonate with many Americans.
