Americans Agree on One Thing About the Mueller Report: Disgust With the Country's Leaders

Americans Agree on One Thing About the Mueller Report: Disgust With the Country’s Leaders

By Campbell Robertson, Sabrina Tavernise and Frances Robles at the N.Y. Times

"SNIP....

But for many across the political spectrum, there was also a sense that the report reflected a basic breakdown of functional government and that critically important issues, such as health care and infrastructure, remained ignored.

“Trump has shown us how flawed our system is; he is the product of a system that has failed, and he’s just doing what the system allows him to do,” said Dwayne A. Jones, 49, a regular Democratic voter in Los Angeles who believed the “circus” surrounding the Mueller investigation had mainly been driven by partisan interests in Washington. “And the people in our Congress, they are more committed to retaining their positions than they are to using their positions.”

Democrats, generally, saw the report’s release as a starting point, not an endpoint — a detailed sketch of a corrupt administration and an outline for congressional investigations. The report included specific and extraordinary details about the president’s behavior behind closed doors and his campaign’s receptiveness to Russian overtures.

Some people said the circumstances around the report’s release, particularly the relatively benign description of its contents by Attorney General William P. Barr, were proof that the fix was in.

Not that anyone expected that the Mueller report would change that in the slightest, of course.

False equivalency is a powerful weapon aimed intended to help ultrawealthy conservatives get and keep control of this nation.

Every article and title that doesn't differentiate between the Democrats and the Republican Party leadership's intense corruption, extremist anti-government goals, and actions is intentional propaganda.

posting this because of the false equivalency you mention. Still the bits in it about people hungry for real government solving real problems and the fact people are reading the 400 page Mueller report are hopeful. Should I not have posted it? There is a lot of noise out there. I try to cut through it.

Out what people are interested in. They want good Government, one that works for them.

The committees can do their work, showing how corrupt Trump and Republicans are. The incompetence they show.

Meanwhile those running for office can concentrate on Health care, infrastructure, jobs, the things people are concerned about.

BTW Honda, Ohio is shutting down one shift. After Lordstown closing.

Meanwhile Mike DeWine signed a restrictive abortion bill that has already been partially struck down by a Judge. Kasich vetoed it twice, so you can see what the Governor is concentrating on while thousands are getting laid off. This will spread, auto parts plants, small businesses.

retrenching from those insidious themes to cover their reputational ass in the articles. They know most will only read the headlines.

I cannot think of anything in our past more wrong than selling weapons to an enemy, Iran (hostages) to pay for an illegal war in Central America. Now we have Trump and Barr.

Barr is a traitor just like Trump. Reagan and Bush I were pushed ...no, they were traitors too.

Never mind what Nixon did (proof on LBJ recordings to prolong Vietnam).

No Democrats have done such things.

… hope there was a sidebar article pointing out how Obama and Hillary act like Trump. I'd like to see how their views on health care, compare, for example.

What? 8 investigations on the Hillary emails.

Barr has been in office a couple of months? He has already proven himself a lying, incompetent, evil man. His reputation is in shreds lying for an evil, incompetent man.

Notice, Barr has disappeared into the woodwork, offering to let the gang of 8 a less redacted version. Still trying to cover.
