Police brutally drag teen down school stairs by her leg

Police brutally drag teen down school stairs
April 12, 2019
Surveillance footage from a high school in Chicago, Illinois, shows police officers dragging 16-year-old student Dnigma Howard down a flight of stairs by her leg. The teen refused to put away her phone during class, ultimately leading to the shockingly violent incident. Local authorities are investigating, and the officers involved have been reassigned. Stroth accused school officials of not following an Individualized Education Program put in place for Dnigma. Such a document lays out a school’s plan for educating students eligible for special education services.

Stroth said police used excessive force when they punched the teen and used a stun gun on her while attempting to remove her from the school.

A consent decree with police approved last week by a federal judge includes particular provisions for police to follow in incidents involving students, Stroth noted. Neither officer activated their body cameras during the incident, which Stroth called “unacceptable.”

Any LEO who disables (or "fails to enable" ) their bodycam is presumed guilty of destruction of evidence in the same way refusing a sobriety test is presumed to be an admission of guilt.

Those require a violent response from authorities, every time!

Two cops basically assaulted a teen and one lied in his report about what was happening with the teen and a nearby crowd. A third cop was involved, but he did not do anything more that handcuff the beaten teen. Some police officers are out of control and should be identified and fired, good police officers MUST help with that process because it makes doing their jobs safer for them.

In my younger days I hoped in my lifetime things would change. I feel like we are moving backward.

Being an old white woman I am least likely to be manhandled if i speak up. It bothers me to my core that not everyone in the US receives the same consideration by authorities that I do. It is something I will never stop fighting for.
