I have not been able to reach him so far. He lives here in the states, but goes back to visit his family in Sri Lanka often. I don't know if any of his family or friends have been affected, but I'm getting more and more fearful, the longer I can't reach him.
He is not a close friend, but he is a friend. And he is a wonderful guy. Please direct your hopeful and healing thoughts toward my friend.
Thanks.
On edit: On re-reading this I realize it looks very "sanitary", as if made up. I assure you it is not. I don't want to mention my friend's name, but he works at a casino near my home. That's where I met him. I know many of the staff there, but a couple of them have become friends, and he is one of them. I still haven't heard anything, but I will let you know if I do.

I just heard from a mutual friend. My friend's family in Sri Lanka are all okay. Emotionally wrecked, but physically unhurt. I'm so relieved! Thank you all for your kind thoughts, and just for being there so I had someone to bounce my worry off of.

I'm so sad for all the people who lost their lives and for all their loved ones. It's horrendous. I just hope that those who lost their lives died instantly and without fear.
