There is only one thing left blocking a full blown constitutional crisis.
The courts, everything else has been corrupted by Trump.
The Republicans in congress have broken their oaths of office. They will not hold Trump accountable for anything. Trump found an AG who has made it clear he will break the law in order to protect Trump. He will sabotage any investigation he can. Trump has made it clear he will not follow the law. He will not obey the Democrats in the House. Trump is breaking new ground, he is saying I will not let anyone cooperate with congress. He has taken it to a higher level than Nixon. This will be decided in our courts. If the courts fail that would be a tipping point. So far the courts have held strong against Trump.

2. we are on dangerous ground now.
the dictator playbook calls for the removal/neutralizing of Congress/Parliament/etc. and of the courts. The Senate is still siding with trump, SCOTUS is a tossup, and some of the Federal courts now have trump allies installed and now trump is trying to neuter the House . If these guys are ignoring Congressional subpoenas, they will also ignore consequences, short of jail. Maybe even jail will not faze them. recall all the mob movies where a fall guy goes to jail to protect bigger fish. and while all these maneuvers are going on, the clock is ticking on the statute of limitations for trump's various Obstruction charges, which, as Rachel pointed out, will expire in 2021 and 2022 If the Dems wimp out about consequences for contempt, game over. |

3. The courts are corrupted too--Rs have been stuffing their young hypocrites into every slot available
since the Bush era. Good luck finding a true patriot in that bunch
