I could not imagine...

(69,959 posts)Evidently, 20% of them have come right out and said they would vote for Trump if their candidate did not get the nomination.

(12,429 posts)I will say that I would be VERY hard pressed to vote for Gabbard or Gillibrand, but I'm hoping they're not even around by the time the debates start.

(7,111 posts)...and still, if one of them pops out of the convention...I'll be running to the polls in November 2020 to vote for them. I've concluded that this is my Cinderella period with the primary candidates. Between now and the Ohio primary, I can like who I like, compare/contrast as I please and (every though they're Democrats) I can choose not to vote for some of them.
Then the clock strikes midnight on the last day of the convention and a candidate emerges. At that point - earwig, ham sandwich, Cap'n Dan, or whoever...they're my candidate. This chit about Trump being a viable "second choice" vs. someone's primary candidate of choice...makes me f'ing crazy.

hopefully we have a huge uprising of democratic voters so a a few hundred thousand dissidents do not effect the next election like they did in 2016

(5,990 posts)That makes absolutely no sense. Trumps policies are all far-right. You would have to be brain dead.

(9,696 posts)In the general, you're voting for policies, not the person.
