More Than 90% of Democratic Voters Want 2020 Candidate to Make Climate Action and Medicare for All Top Priorities: Poll

From the article:

The global climate crisis and Medicare for All are top issues for a large majority of Democratic voters, according to new polling results published Tuesday by CNN.
The survey (pdf), conducted last week, asked Democrats and left-leaning Independents how important they considered certain policy items.
Most people polled said it is somewhat or very important that the Democratic candidate for president in 2020 support party priorities like stricter gun laws, tuition-free public college, impeaching President Donald Trump, paying reparations to slaves' descendants, and restoring voting rights for all convicted felons.

But two issues stood out at the top.

and the planet that we live on.

There are different paths to getting to Medicare for all, from a staged (by age group) buy in, to an immediate option to buy in for all ages.

But climate change, if it is not addressed, will make everything else inadequate.

I agree that they have mass appeal... but, that's more a sign of the times and how dramatically our country and the world need to see those ideas implemented. That, however, doesn't detract from their revolutionary nature.

And the most revolutionary aspect is separating profit from the health care equation. The health of people should not be treated as secondary to making huge profits, or any profits.

Canada did not immediately move from private insurance to single payer.

But as provinces changed, it was obvious how much better single payer is.
