There's a disturbing environmental meme campaign

Here's an example:

The point of all of them is (I think) to convince the global rich (i.e., the developed world working and middle class) that we don't need to change our behavior; the problem is "corporations" and their "executives". The first one I remember was a graph of "these 100 corporations produce 71% of emissions". Never mind that one of the corporations was "the People's Republic of China", even the rest of the list is really problematic. The numbers are based on secondary emissions, meaning that if I fill up my car at Chevron and drive it, all those emissions are counted against Chevron rather than me.

For forty years, environmentalists have been trying to convince the global rich (and that is us) to change our behavior, because our behavior is harming the environment. This new message that we can push the blame somewhere else is harmful and dangerous.

I rarely drive any longer, maybe one, possibly two days a week, public transportation here STINKS! My A/C here is set at 80, my heat at 68, I capture rain water to water ALL of my plants, I grow a substantial amount of my vegetables, I have plants everywhere, I barely have ANY lights on, anywhere, hell, I don't even watch television any longer. My electric bill is so low, I don't even qualify for subsidized Solar Program. And yes, everything that can be recycled, gets recycled. I just wish everyone followed suit.
