All they have to do is remove voter registrations, or change addresses so as to prevent them from receiving proper instructions or perhaps from being ABLE to vote on election day ... just off the top of my head.
Once you're into registration roles, if you manage to attain WRITE privileges (which generally includes insert/update/delete) to the database ... you can hack an election even w/o changing votes directly.

In reality, if the REGISTRATION rolls were exposed to UPDATES of any kind, 'the vote' could be hacked profoundly through indirect means in the days and months leading up to election day.
Similar to how you can 'hack the vote' with voter roll 'purges', as the cheating, treasonous, filthy GOP scum ... engages in with regularity

(14,490 posts)Russians (and other international actors) use data bases like these to create pinpoint-targeted misinformation posts and ads on social media. They do it on both sides to sow turmoil and division and then bias the targeting to help the guy they want to win.
It's dirt-cheap work for them that pays off big time, but an evil international game that must somehow be stopped.....
