Amid a nationwide debate on abortion, a Michigan state lawmaker said the procedure should be “painful” for women.

Republican Sen. Kim LaSata was on Michigan Radio defending a proposed ban on an abortion procedure known as dilation-and-evacuation, typically used in the second trimester.

“Of course it should be hard, and the procedure should be painful, and you should allow God to take over, and you should deliver that baby, and you should handle the situation,” LaSata, 56, said.

LaSata revealed that she had an abortion after doctors told her that her fetus would not survive birth. The fetus was delivered stillborn after the procedure, which she called “God looking out for me.” All women, she said, should have to carry a fetus to term regardless of viability.

Who once had an abortion due to an non-viable fetus. Typical republican "I got mine. Screw you.", along with the usual sanctimonious, misogynistic "The Jezebels must suffer for their sins" bullshit. Fuck her. She is a pathetic excuse for a human being.

One is a pro-life woman suddenly understand the need for legal abortion when she has an unwanted pregnancy, or one that won't result in a living baby.

The other is a woman who's had an abortion, sometimes multiple abortions, who now doesn't believe other women should have the same choice.

I was 4 months pregnant when I began to bleed. A vaginal ultrasound confirmed my pregnancy _ and a dead fetus, head down without a heartbeat.

I had to wait 24 hours before the hospital would allow a D & C. Yes, I went through pain. Yes, I had to go 24 hours with a dead fetus inside me.

Heartless bastards!!!

The hypocrisy and stupidity of these idiots doesn’t usually surprise me, but how does the still birth of the fetus after her “totally justified because she’s a republican” abortion qualify as god looking out for her?

Shouldn’t god have just raptured the fetus away?

She agreed to have the doctor do a D&E because the fetus was sure to die—then called that God looking out for her. But she thinks other women shouldn't have D&Es. What I take from that is, she doesn't think God should look out for other women the way he did for her. That's some warped, sadistic thinking.
