I thought I saw a Neil Armstrong picture up at your convention this AM ........
Please remember that the mission to the moon was a big government project and that
the Saturn V Rocket, the Command Module, the Lunar Lander were all union made.

(18,998 posts)that Niel Armstrong was on the government payroll for most of his life...that makes him a slug in nut job terms.
And it was money well spent.

(70,519 posts)Neil is such a private person that he was in my town, Columbus, OH for the
last part of his life but nobody in town knew about that except for the hospital
staff and his family and friends.

(36,099 posts)We've learned that Big Government didn't really commit to a space vision. At least not one that the public would be privy to. Later, the space station was over five to ten years in the making before the public was even informed of its existence. There's no evidence from our leaders of any vision-building partnership going on. Instead, we have a privately owned space port in New Mexico. It would be a good idea to keep an eye on how it's used and who uses it. I guess Republicans should be seeing a picture of that, instead.
