"President Trumps former campaign manager Paul Manafort will be moved from a federal prison lockup in Pennsylvania to Rikers Island later this week, a report said Monday."
"Manhattan District Attorney requested the transfer after a New York grand jury charged Manafort with a number of crimes, including residential mortgage fraud and falsifying business records, Fox News reported, citing a source close to Manafort."
"The transfer could come as soon as Thursday, and Manafort will be held in solitary confinement for his own safety, according to the report."

He will be able to see his former multi million dollar properties in Manhattan from the prison yard if it's a clear day.

(7,538 posts)but I believe there is a federal metropolitan detention center located in Manhattan. This is commonly where pretrial detainees who are transferred from other jurisdictions for trial on other charges are housed while undergo trial. While I am sure that there are multiple facilities that are typically used by SDNY for this purpose, I find the choice interesting.

(2,191 posts)Is what I actually said out loud. Well, Manafort stopped cooperating in anticipation of either a Trump pardon or a worse consequence from someone else if he kept talking.
