The British arent too fond of President Trump. Last October, a Pew Research Center study found that only 28% of residents of the United Kingdom have confidence he will do the right thing regarding world affairs. The results werent surprising. When Trump flew to London a few months before the study was published, he was greeted by thousands of protesters and a 20-foot-tall inflatable Trump Baby flying over Parliament. The blimp was greenlit by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who has feuded with Trump since the 2016 campaign. The mayor supports the right to peaceful protest and understands that this can take many different forms, a spokesperson for Khan said at the time.
Not much has changed since last summer. Trump is still hated in the U.K., hes still feuding with Khan and when he arrived in London on Monday, he once again was greeted by a portly balloon bearing his likeness. The president wasnt sweating it. London part of trip is going really well, he tweeted on Monday. Havent seen any protests yet, but Im sure the Fake News will be working hard to find them, he added.

OK, done. Here are some of the ways the British have expressed their distaste for Trump during his visit.
The Trump Baby
So iconic is the Trump Baby, which was conceived last year by a group led by London artist Leo Murray, that the Museum of London has said it wants to acquire the piece of protest art. Its unclear if the blimps team of Trump Babysitters will approve of the move. The museum has also said it wants to acquire an inflatable blimp depicting Mayor Khan that has been flown by Trump supporters in London.

Reminding him of John McCain
Trump may not have seen the USS John S. McCain when he was in Japan over Memorial Day, but protest group Led By Donkeys wanted to make sure the late senators presence wasnt obscured in London, projecting an image of the ship onto Madame Tussauds.

Comparing him to Obama
Since taking office, Trump has been obsessed with dismantling President Obamas legacy. Hes also been touchy about any metrics in which he is underperforming his predecessor. In April, he even groused about having less Twitter followers than Obama, and grilled Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about why his count isnt higher. Led By Donkeys wanted to twist the numbers knife, projecting an image of Obamas approval rating in the U.K. (72%) next to that of Trump (21%) on the Tower of London.

(19,201 posts)I'm sure by now the orange shit-ball has seen what the British people really think of him. He was shielded from the moment he stepped off Air Force 1 until his orange, stupid head hit his pillow yesterday. Today he won't be as lucky. People in the U.K. despise him, even in Scotland where he supposedly has "roots" from his delirious mother.
Up yours, Donnie. Your biggest "fans" rode over with you on Air Force 1. You're in hostile territory now, and you'll return to hostile territory when you return to the U.S.

(14,173 posts)He only has to state something as fact.....and it is God's truth to his faithful deplorables. I can predict quite confidently, that for most Trump supporters, Trump saying that there were no protesters, and only adoring crowds, will be swallowed whole. And they will argue relentlessly that this is the truth, even months later. And its all fake footage by the fake media. Its insane.

(81,240 posts)From the marches and rallies Ive attended in two different states, these are among the coolest gatherings Ive ever been part of! All the way back to an anti-Vietnam War march, lots of anti-Iraq War events, and the recent ones since The Womens March Im talkin.
Theyre literally a slow-moving art exhibit. Of the people themselves as well as their posters - and accoutrements! Its just a big long walking joy! There are speakers and local dignitaries but the crowd! Absolutely everybody is there. Of every race and skin color. Gender. Two-legged. Four-legged. Kids. Babies in strollers and daddy-packs. Old folks. Students. Teens. Military veterans. Painted, costumed, holding all kinds of props. Ive even seen pet falcons and a guy with a pet llama at these things.
And thats just the view. You also hear an audible feast: a mix of languages spoken and styles of music and city noise and passing car horns honking in approval. Sometimes somebody brings a drum or two. Occasionally theres a band!
Sometimes there are those on the other side but theyre dramatically smaller and lower-profile than rallies and marches Ive ever attended. But as with the Democratic base versus trumps, OURS IS BIGGER.
I love going to these things. They really help renew your spirit, especially when youre reminded how many of us good guys there are!
