The CBC coverage of D-Day Commemorations has been wonderful

Dignified, thoughtfully choreographed, inclusive, informative and heart tugging. They included an Indigenous drum group who played the Honor Song.

Now they are escorting the Veterans down to the beach. Sometimes I wonder how I can even make more tears.

2. I don't think there is. The broadcasting rights are sticky.

I get the CBC via my cable provider, for which I am ever grateful. The CBC website might have something but I just don't know that the videos are accessible outside of Canada.

It's their news page, and not the main CBC page. They frequently livestream events, and it's available in the US and probably elsewhere.

Various people and groups livestream events on it. The CBC and BBC are a couple of them.

I wish Justin Trudeau was our president. He's not perfect, but he beats the hell out of the shitstain we have.

11. Seeing all those veterans heading down to the beach in their wheelchairs. Poignant as hell

and of course the CBC reporters are finding what most of us know from our own family members (my Father & Uncles for ex): they really never talked about the horror or the war and few want to today. Commemorate the fallen, yes. But not relay the details of that service.

Seeing Trudeau--someone who knows the history and genuinely WANTS to be there...

12. Prime Minister Trudeau is acting like a nation's leader should act, at an event like this

He has his flaws, but all in all, he is very impressive.

And as for the CBC, they most certainly focused far more on the Veterans than on the national leaders. Which is how it should be.

So, I have been watching both Canadian and British coverage

I just noticed they likewise have a live watch link from their website: skynews.com
