Without that majority in 2020, Democrats will not control any committees and Mitch can keep appointing radical right-wing incompetent judges to the federal bench and he can keep stymying any and all bills for things Democrats want to accomplish. We need Manchin for now. When he’s up for reelection in 2024, the political environment may have changed and Democrats might have someone who can primary him. We need to keep our eyes on the prize and elect as many Democrats as possible in 2020.

Here you go!!

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin endorses GOP Sen. Susan Collins for 2020

Cross-party endorsement is rare, but two voted together to support Kavanaugh

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin III endorsed Republican Sen. Susan Collins’ 2020 re-election bid Thursday, saying he would go to Maine to campaign for her if she asked.

“I would go up and campaign for Susan Collins,” the West Virginia senator said in an interview taped for C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” that will air Friday. “For America to lose someone like Susan Collins would be an absolute shame. I feel that strongly about this lady.”

Collins is among the more vulnerable Republican senators up for re-election in 2020 as Democrats seek to capture the majority. Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales rates her race Tilts Republican.

Though she does not yet have an opponent, Collins’ vote last year to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court led to the creation of a Crowdpac fund for her eventual Democratic opponent that has raised nearly $3.8 million so far to oust her.

running against a republican you have to go for him for the simple reason to increase your odds to get a majority in the Senate so the Democrats can set the agenda, and determine SC nominees.

It isn't a pleasant thing, but having the majority in the Senate is critical. If we didn't need him in the Senate to obtain that majority, it wouldn't matter, but as far as I can see, we need every Democratic head count we can get in order to have a chance at a majority in the Senate

However, until there is a viable Democratic nominee to challenge the SOB. that can appeal to the populace in West Virginia, there is not much that will change, until the populous in West Virgina realize just how they are getting short changed by this right wing policies.

Until that occurs, the only reason to support Manchin is in the general election if he is running against a republican, to just build our numbers up in the Senate to obtain a majority, so the Democratic Party can set the agenda
