1) a deep state conspiracy; 2) censorship; or 3) a tragedy
That is all.

(18,486 posts)Now the fact that it's not being shown live is a conspiracy and a national emergency.

(115,869 posts)People who are interested will have watched on C-SPAN or other internet sources or will watch saved footage later; people who aren't interested wouldn't have watched anyhow. MSNBC knows most people are more likely to watch coverage of an air crash than a Congressional hearing. DU isn't most people.

No? Then it isn't worthy of live coverage.
This hearing is intended to produce a couple of soundbites. It will almost certainly do that and those will be covered on the evening news.

(35,454 posts)which is where they were headed with lots of talk about 911 and how events like this scare NYers. Finally, when the sad accident nature of this was evident they moved on.
I would also like to say, it's my read on the incident that, when the pilot knew he was in trouble he deliberately landed on top of a building rather than crash down on 7th Ave. which would've certainly been catastrophic. THe lesser of two bad choices.

(15,805 posts)MSNBC is owned by Comcast, certainly profits are high on their list of important things to do today. These hearings, while interesting to political junkies, reporters and media hosts, do not attract a large TV audience. Without a high viewership and big ratings, advertisers are reluctant to buy ad time from the corporate broadcasters.
Until the average public TV watcher finally hears enough about these oversight and investigatory hearings to become interested they are not going to get much media coverage.
