Trump destroys Chinese economy - by 150% no less

President Donald Trump let fly a jaw-dropping lie in a chatty interview with CNBC Monday, saying that because of his get-tough trade war with China, the Asian nation’s economy has lost ?$15 to $20 trillion in value since the day I was elected.”

The Chinese economy is worth an estimated $13 trillion (it was $12.2 trillion in 2017, according to the World Bank). To wipe out 150% of China’s GDP would erase the country from the world economy and would be pretty ― incredible.

Contrary to Trump’s whopper, the Chinese economy has continued to expand over 6% a year since he was elected

What irritates me is that that station gave him a 1/2 hr. of speechifying without any blow-back or serious questions. Reminded me of 2016 where he was given free time from the Harold Stern to Morning Joe shows.

When I was working I was easily convinced to stop for just one after work. There was this one guy who would bar hop to get free drinks when we would buy a round. He knew everything about everything. He had the coldest temperature at his house that day, he shot the biggest buck, caught the biggest fish. We all made a conscious effort to make sure there wasn't an open seat close to us. Everyone knew that he was full of shit, no one believed a word he said, he got to be extremely annoying, but he was harmless because he wasn't president of the fucking United States.

The hosts worship at the altar of supply side Laffer economics, which is pure crankery designed to make the rich richer and the poor poorer.
