Most have heard the saying: "Hurt me once, shame on you. Hurt me twice, shame on me".

But, when you allow the same "person" to hurt you thousands of times over the course of three plus years, shame is no longer relevant. You have abandoned any claim to self-respect and the word "WELCOME" is printed across your back.

Lay down---you are a doormat.

Saying "hurt me..." sounds like blaming the victim in an abusive relationship.
The rest of the OP seems to apply to that interpretation as well; maybe the poster did not think it through.
