if mittens really breaks w the grand old perverts-

Last edited Thu Jun 13, 2019, 08:55 PM - Edit history (2)

would the dam finally collapse?
amash was a quake in the house, but he has plenty of cover there, and a more purple base.

but the last argument that the donts have is that it is futile in the senate.
but one senator saying the i word, and the null argument is no longer valid.

one senator saying the word would create a cat 5 storm.

maybe it isnt the wise men trekking to the white house any more.
maybe now its a brave man saying it on the teevee.

he could say impeach, or he could say he's crazy and dangerous.

either way, it isnt day long hearings and running stories in the newspaper anymore.
it isnt the movie.

it's the tweet.
mittens could make the tweet heard round the world.

right?
something could actually happen to tilt us back toward our axis, right?
at least a little?
or at least stop the slide?
right?

please tell me i'm right.
i'm not asking would he do it.
this is purely the hypothetical- what if he did?

eta- rly du? almost none of these comments addressed my point, despite my specific reiteration of the question at the end.

some times this place makes me crazy.

There will be no conviction in the Senate and no removal from office.
At the current pace, there won't even be an impeachment in the House.

It is maddening, especially after READING the Mueller report, but there is no hope left.

It might give cover for a few other Republican Senators to vote to convict. I doubt we’d ever get the 20 Republican Senators necessary for conviction but we could get a bipartisan vote.

He was Never-tRump when that was viable, he switched when he hoped to land a job with the tRump administration (frog legs, anyone?); switched again when running for Senate--gonna be a check on the preznit! (tRump isn't all that popular with the Mormons); got to the Senate and became Susan Collins--very concerned...and worthless.

fuck him

Maybe rewrite that sentence or it makes the opposite point that I think you’re trying to make.

Not only would some Senate Rs be given cover to speak out, but R voters who aren't Trump loyalists may decide they agree with him and pressure their leaders.

That's my best case.

my guess is that there are enough Repugs that look at Mittens as a kind of an outsider yet. So my suspicion is the others in the cult would immediately circle the wagons and put Mittsy on the outside and spend the better portion of a couple weeks denigrating him til hell won't have it.

He is certainly the weakest link. I get the feeling that he really isn't quite a full club member yet. So if he broke, they would simply 'shun' him.

and Mittsy doesn't seem to have fully absorbed that.

Sure would be fun to find out, though. I would so love to be proven wrong.
