Most recently, the speaker has said she wants to see Trump in prison, not impeached — meaning beat him next year and then indict. But this is a silly attempt to show toughness. Whether Trump ever goes to prison is beside the constitutional and political point. He is unfit for office. He has abused his power. He has violated his oath. The Constitution affords the remedy. Talk about prison is a distraction.

The real reason the House leadership is ducking impeachment is almost surely politics. Some say polls argue against impeachment, but polls mean little when the vast majority of people have neither read the Mueller report nor absorbed what it says from in-depth reporting. What the public has heard is the Trump team celebrating exoneration while the Democrats seem uncertain and conflicted. Polls will change if we move forward with an impeachment inquiry, just as they did during Watergate, when support for impeachment rose from 19 percent to 57 percent, per Gallup, within 14 months of the time impeachment hearings began.

In short, the time of reckoning is upon us. Of course, there are risks in moving forward, but the risks of not doing so are greater. Taking into account principle, precedent and politics, the House should open an impeachment inquiry, upholding its separate but equal power to do its sworn duty. Now is a moment for clarity, toughness and spine. History is watching.

He deserves impeachment. Pelosi is playing politics. Impeachment hearings will open America's eyes.

I think that last point is highly debatable. IMO we've seen everything we need to see and impeachment will just cause both sides to dig in deeper.

History lesson;

Democrats won a resounding victory in 2008, a complete control of government. Why? Republicans lied us into a terrible war, along with committing war crimes. That's why Democrats swept government. What happened next?

I don't blame Speaker Pelosi, I blame president Obama for believing that he could unite the country if he gave Republicans a pass on the Iraq war, a get out of jail card. President Obama ignored the very reason why Democrats won the election.

Act II; with control of government president Obama does what no one else could do, pass health care reform. The problem was that Democrats did a terrible job in explaining the ACA, they allowed Republicans, with the help of the complicit M$M, define the ACA, death panels and all. Couple that with a terrible roll out and with the Koch brothers spending millions on propaganda.

Remember I said I didn't blame Speaker Pelosi for not holding the Bush administration accountable for Iraq, with that said, she was Speaker in 2010 when Republicans flipped 64 net House seats. I don't care what narrative is being spun about impeaching Trump, Speaker Pelosi doesn't want a repeat of 2010, but what if her strategy is wrong?

I don't care what people say about the reasons for the 2018 election results. People voted in Democrats to hold Donald Trump accountable just like they voted in 2008 to hold Bush accountable. Will we make the same mistake we made in 2009? We need to hold Donald Trump accountable, history requires it. Impeach now.

She's got the best chance of anybody of being right, given her experience, smarts and inside access to information that we don't.
