TRUMP: Oh, are you trying to say now that there was collusion even though (Mueller) said...

...there was no collusion?

STEPHANOPOULOS: He didn't say there's no collusion.

TRUMP: He said no collusion.

STEPHANOPOULOS: He said he didn't look at collusion.

TRUMP: George, the report said no collusion.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Did you read the report?

TRUMP: Uh, yes I did, and you should read it, too.

Trump seems worried that people are starting to see through his and Barr's "no collusion in the Mueller Report" lying gambit. Trump knows that the American people wouldn't like what the Mueller Report says he and his team really did. I think it would be seen as collusion by most people.

Eagerly accepting campaign help from the Russian government at a time when Trump was trying to do a big Moscow business deal? Asking the Russians to use hacking against his opponent (and having them do it that same day)? What's that called? The word's on the tip of my tongue.

Collusion?

Yeah. That's what it was. Trump is whistling past the graveyard here. The very word he gave such resonance is now the perfect word for what he and his team did. And there's certainly no reason "collusion" with a foreign power in an election shouldn't be considered a high crime or misdemeanor. It would actually make a pretty good impeachment article heading.

... In evaluating whether evidence about collective action of multiple individuals constituted a crime, we applied the framework of conspiracy law, not the concept of "collusion." In so doing, the Office recognized that the word "collud<e>" was used in communications with the Acting Attorney General confirming certain aspects of the investigation's scope and that the term has frequently been invoked in public reporting about the investigation. But collusion is not a specific offense or theory of liability found in the United States Code, nor is it a term of art in federal criminal law ...
