You know what, I've lost my patience.

This horror regarding the migrant children has pulled my last nerve. There must be at this time be a mountain of evidence of high crimes, lies, scams, collusion, obstruction and any number of deviant acts on trump his family the Republican party his business dealings to at the very least start impeachment investigations. How long are we going to allow this creaton to continue ?

The narrative has swung to Steve Kornacki, and the criminal president goes on destroying our democracy and our environment.

Adam Schiff stated that we should wait to impeach until Trump disobeys a Supreme Court order and that will be after the election.

Speaker Pelosi can bring all Democrats together by calling for impeachment hearings.

I have been screaming from the rooftops ever since the day Reagan (Actually H.W Bush and Cheney et al) took office and I saw all the things they were doing. Many thought I was just climbing on a soap box........
I really started screaming louder when H.W Bush (and the same Cheney et al) took office. And was going hoarse by the time W Bush was "Appointed" president (with Cheney, et al). I mustered some screaming when the Republicans, by hook or crook, stuffed Trump in the office with the thanks of Putin and several other foreign governments.

I have to believe at this point, impeachment or any other shoot from the hip reaction, is going to be way too little, way too late.

I am not shocked that Pelosi is nowhere near getting the votes.

The US political system has been slammed to the right over the past several decades at multiple levels. Systemic voter suppression and gerrymandering by the Rethugs have made so many red and purple seats. To win those districts (like we did in 2018) we have to run moderates. The size of the New Democrat Coalition (centrist and blue dog types) has exploded.

Many of those moderates will never support even an impeachment enquiry unless the US population tilts massively more in favour of impeachment (or starting an enquiry). They think they would be committing electoral suicide.

Also, even if we take back the Senate and keep around 230 to 240 in the House, I see almost zero chance of even the public option getting passed. Same for even free community college nationally. Same for student loan debt forgiveness. Hell, good luck on even capping student loan interest at a very low number. Many of the moderates will never vote for those things, partly in fear of losing their districts. Failure to do those and other things may further induce voter apathy as well. It can become a viscous circle, and the Rethugs will NEVER give in, ever.

That all is the price we pay for playing within a vastly (and artificially) tilted-to-the-right federal electoral framework. State assemblies too (who then gerrymander and suppress voting further to create a self re-enforcing RW feedback loop).

I am already really cynical at 23 years of age.

Are you kidding? All the Repubs in the House and Senate have all asked Melanoma where she got her cool jacket "I don't care".

The Repubs have turned this into a Third World, Banana Republic Dictatorship with the Repubs and Corporations in complete and utter control.............The Repubs are euphoric, and fulfilling all their wet dreams they have had for decades.

I have to be honest, I 100% believe that if somehow the Dems won the 2020 Presidential Election, Trump and his Entire Administration, the DOJ, Supreme Court, Republican Senate, etc etc etc would dig up some BS that they have proof of fraud and Freeze the election and allow Trump to stay in "until the Republican Administration, Republican Senate, Republican DOJ, etc can get to the bottom of this" which could take them years or even decades for that matter.

Even if, in our wildest dreams, we took the Senate and the Presidency, as well as every State Governor in the U.S. can you fathom how long it would take to reverse all this Ton of crap that has already been done? Think about it. And that is just the stuff we know about, also think about all that they have done in the shadows and behind everyone's backs for years..........

Suffice to say I disagree.

The higher the emotions, the more important it is to think calmly and strategically.

The Democratic Party is already on the right side of history. All that matters now is 2020.

Nothing else matters.

I agree the son of a bitch deserves it, but I don’t think impeachment helps our cause. Because I don’t think impeachment changes a single vote. And if you think the Mueller report produced depression among Democratic voters, imagine what a failed impeachment would do.

But honorable people can disagree on issues like this.

Removing Trump...if you could....does nothing. Republicans have the majority in the Senate, the Presidency, the control of many State Governments, and the Court System. I think when Mueller testifies and people get a glimpse of how the GOP handles hearings, they may think again about the strategy of having the 5 Committee's doing their investigative work with little fan-fare. Preparing a fail-safe case of prosecutable crimes, and un-covering more than they would be able to in any impeachment hearing. But no one really cares about any of that, do they? Blame anyone, but don't blame the GOP, and don't blame the citizens of this country...unless they are non-white.
