Think back to the way that Senator Al Franken handled an allegation of inappropriate touching. As heads were exploding, even on his own team, he explained his recall of the situation, offered to fully participate in a hearing, apologized sincerely for the trauma he may have caused, and ultimately was persuaded to resign from Congress.

Compare that to how Dufus handled an allegation of actual rape. The first thing out of his mouth was, "She's not my type, okay?"

of "I couldn't fathom doing something so criminal and loathsome."

Of course we wouldn't believe him anyway, but he doesn't even try to make the case that such behavior is out of the question for him.
