This is what happens when people with wealth and power wage asymmetric warfare on the common person. They can hire armies of lawyers, outright bribe officials, call in favors in the mass media.

They don't realize that when they insulate themselves from honest calls for justice and equality, shield themselves from consequences, and deny redress to those complaining, they are ratcheting up the tension in society.

When mass numbers of people feel that the system doesn't work and will NEVER be fare, civility goes out the window. I don't like it or support it, but it is the natural course of things.

Dropping public decorum is mild. In other countries, this is what eventual leads to public harassment, rebellion and riots.

The French monarchy learned the hard way. The Russian monarchy learned the hard way. The rich and corrupt pre-revolutionary government of Cuba learned the hard way. And so on, and so forth.

If we can solve problems at the spitting stage, that would be great. Because otherwise, it's going to get a heck of a lot more intense.

I'd frame that picture and hang it on my wall. It's sad that I fantasize about such things. We're supposed to have people with admirable traits representing us, but the human race, for the most part, is being led by the most foul. The thing that vexes me most about this state of affairs is that these monsters will never be punished for what they do. It vexes many of us, and I think that's why Eric Trump was spat on, whether the one who did the spitting realized it or not.
