Small, barely noticeable earthquake just now in Las Vegas!

Okay, it seems to have stopped.

1. Damn! That had some legs!

Rumbled the Inland Empire quite a bit.

2. I think I felt it too here in sw Vegas

3. I was holding my monitor - it was very noticeable here.

4. I definitely felt it on the West side.

It made me go outside to look around. When I returned inside it was still shaking, but less so. Lasted for more than a minute.

5. Understandable we would feel a

greater effect in Centennial Hills and Lone Mountain area and that would be because of the Soils makeup. Still some movement as I type.

It seems to be over and done in eastern Henderson. The west side seems to have got it worse and longer.

8. Expecting another shaker before days end.

Won't be very strong. Can imagine Beatty and Furnace Creek Areas most likely have some issues,especially the road from Beatty into the Park.

7. I remember them describing the soil

as jelly-like when the Northridge earthquake happened. and those streets had the most damage.

9. On the west and northwest

side of the Valley,we have nothing but Caliche or Gypsum for subsoil,and that acts like a Drum Head and Amplifies any ground movement. Each time there is blasting at the Gypsum Mine on Blue Diamond Mountain,we always feel the shock and we are some forty miles away.
