This quake(s) is weird. Yesterday and today, they started off small, then boom.

So now every small one had got me a bit paranoid.

yesterday's 6.4 is now considered a pre-quake. and today's is the "earthquake".

2. I've lived in Caifornia most of my life and

rode out all the big quakes. This is the first time that I recall an earthquake swarm where quakes the actually strong enough to be felt and are coming up every few minutes.

The earthquake app I have shows 15 events in the past hour since the 7.1 quake. No rest for me tonight!

9. I have Earthquake Alert! from Google App Store.

There are a lot of freebie seismic apps, but this one works for me.

6. I've lived in So Cal my entire life....

...Whittier Narrows, Rancho Cucamonga, Northridge, etc.

They hit fast and hard...and tapered off pretty quickly. This one, is a bit different.

8. They do get annoying after a bit

Roughly 6 months after Loma Prieta in 1989 (and on the anniversary of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake) we had a 4ish quake at 6:30 AM. Now I don't get out of bed for anything less than a 5, and it wasn't time to get up yet, so I just went back to sleep. 15 minutes later, there was another one about the same size. I was still not ready to get up. Then 15 minutes later there was yet another one - this time I got the message.

Expect to be jumpy for a few weeks, if not longer.

12. The earthquake is easier for me to get over then

the aftershocks because each time I wonder if it's just an aftershock or another earthquake that I should get up move for.
