wow - completely different views on the impacts of R. Muellers testimony.
BriWi and guests Rucker, Heileman, thought it was a big win for trump.
Maddow and O'Donnell had me convinced otherwise after their fine analyses last night. I don't know if it was Rachel's. editing or...? What she showed was super revealing and impactful.
Hearing from the Dems that impeachment is MORE likely... Heileman saying impeachment is dead.
I am hoping that Nancy, Nadler, Schiff, have something up their sleeves.
Also, on Fusion GPS and Mueller's ignorance of it: I thought he was playing the Reps, that he didn't known of it...in keeping with trying to limit his testimony to scope. I also thought he seemed much sharper, than others did. I saw about 4 1/2 hours, while doing other tasks.

(12,253 posts)I watched him go through the same thing I go through when in a public forum. His hearing is going down and he may not realize it, but he was asking for people to repeat questions, speak slower, louder, etc., which is all you can do in especially in a large room with lots of ambient noise. He couldn't hear the Republican side of the room as well as he could hear the Democrats. I'm 70 and had my first hearing test after what I described as 'about a 40% loss in my left ear.' As it turns out, I cannot discern words from my left ear at all. My right ear is losing ground, too, and I was prescribed hearing aids. From what I saw yesterday, I think Mueller needs a hearing aid.

(102,283 posts)noise, a factor that can affect people of all ages. Such periodic "confused" hearing is something that has affected me in some settings since my 20's, even though my overall hearing is normal. I hate dealing with a cashier, for example, who is simultaneously asking me something as multiple people behind and around them are asking questions or just loudly talking. He was much better as questioners slowed down and articulated--something the Republicans were not about to do.

(18,486 posts)We don't know who or how many (2, 4, 8) of these anonymous Members supposed said this to him, but impeachment sure doesn't look dead to me ..
I like Heileman, but I call bullshit on this one.

(24,736 posts)I don't know if I'm being naive or blind. But I'm interested to see how this plays out over the next couple days.
Best thing Dems could do right now is start impeachment hearings - a preliminary phase. It would telegraph they believe they came out of yesterday with a strong hand, and would catch trump off guard, since they are supposed to be going on summer break. Selected reps could stay in DC and rotate through over the next 4 weeks.

(24,736 posts)that he was seeking precision. He wanted to be sure he heard exactly what the questioner was asking.
He was quick when he had the answer, and careful, as required. It was rapid fire and designed to trip him up.
I feel weird that I saw it so differently - even Maddow opined on his frailty. I actually noticed it at his press conference! Maybe that's why I wasn't overly surprised.
Total spin, and again Rs are seizing the narrative. They have no problem spewing lies - as Dems do. One place they outpace us.

(34,111 posts)Why would anyone ever listen to someone with a big time, public job requiring responsibility and credibility but got caught lying?
How in the hell does this guy have a job? I don't care how good you are, if you are a news person and feel the need to lie by inserting yourself into situations to brag you do not belong in a job that really requires much trust.
