Is anyone watching the HBO series Years and Years?

Emma Thompson and other brilliant English actors portray an English family beginning in 2019 and by episode 4, where we are now, it's 2028 and shit's getting real.

It's about how we keep on keeping on, normalizing the abnormal, as climate and refugee chaos take hold. It's getting pretty dark now with for profit concentration camps.

This is an honest prediction of the future.

He says he always only intended it to be a one-off. A shame. I was completely captivated by it & would love it to continue.

Very cleverly done, esp. now with Boris in charge of the cookie jar.

Oh the ironies...a guy with a Russian name, tall, blond and shambolic, he could be a brother of Trump.
Except I believe he has a brain and can talk in complete sentence....

Almost lost me in the first episode, but by the middle of the second I was fully engaged.

The 90 day rainstorm is background news, no butterflies or bananas are just part of the conversation. The story line of Danny and Victor is sad beyond belief.

This is great tv.

He did A Very English Scandal, which I have watched twice so far, and of course Doctor Who.

Gonna re-watch Years and Years too, there is a lot to digest.

This is where we're headed if we do not stop the march of Right Wing governments.

Emma Thompson is great and just chilling. She plays Trump perfectly. And the last episode meeting behind closed doors where they were auctioning off Concentration Camp sites to the highest bidder to run is surely what is going on right now. Big Trump donors are getting all of these contracts to house immigrants. "If they get overcrowded, natural selection will take its course." Just pure evil.

and very much how I see what's happening now, pure evil. The acting is some of the best I've seen.

All of this is our fault, and it is well past time to take action. People are dying in our name. We bury the motherfuckers now or they bury us.

Had a tough time getting through the first episode. Part of the problem was very pronounced accents with some words and phrases difficult to understand. Stuck with it, though. Chilling.

It's all about what we aren't seeing yet here: how everyday family life is being affected by climate change, automation, overpopulation and mass migration. Politics of control. Nuclear event. Concentration camps.

If this is where we're going in 10 years, I ache for families with young children. We really are at a tipping point here in the US. We must remove Trump and send the Republican party that has enabled and supported him to the dustbin of history. I fear violence. The presence of over 300 million guns in this country--many in the hands of Trump followers--is extremely worrisome. It may not end as peacefully as a British TV show.

My kiddos haven’t really known any deprivation in their lives. I honestly believe most Americans are completely unprepared for what’s coming.
I also fear violence in America with numerous guns and a whole lot of ignorance.

Had the same problem with the first episode and my 71 year old ears So glad I stuck with it..some great work here.
