Clint Eastwood is supporting a Republican Party that *explicitly* shuns marriage equality in their platform. He is supporting a presidential candidate who is explicitly against marriage equality. Not only that, the Republican Party doesn't even support civil unions.

And we now have a president who not only supports marriage equality, he has directed his Justice Department to stop enforcing the Defense of Marriage Act.

What don't you get about that?

Fri Aug 31, 2012, 05:36 AM
Aug 2012

Obama has never, even in '08, actively opposed it. In fact, he came out against measures to ban gay marriage. Not only does Romney not support gay marriage, he supports banning it and has even gone as far as to endorse an amendment to the constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman. Obama and Biden never, ever went that far.

You can dismiss that, of course, but I think we know where Obama stands on marriage equality and gay rights - as we do Romney and they're nowhere near each other ... even if you include '08 Obama.

Bottom line, Romney now opposes marriage equality AND civil unions. That's not even comparable to Obama's stance on the issue four years ago.

Who knew he was even alive. But turns out he is alive and really, really dumb. Just imagine how stupid you think the former host of Love Connection probably is and multiply that by about 50 times. He's giving Stephen Balwin a run for his money on stupidity. He's for privatizing medicare because "we know that anything the government is involved with is inefficient". Hartman told him that actually the V.A. was the most efficient healthcare system in terms of cost and overhead and that Medicare overhead was about 3% as opposed to 30-40% for private insurance companies. Boom. No response. Interview over.

If you dig into Eastwood's past statements and beliefs, you will find that he is pro-choice, pro gay marriage, and really is an old time Eisenhower Republican and a RINO. They are to stupid to see, just like when Bush thought Springsteen was singing a pro Republican anthem until they figured that he was not, or like Colbert, who they thought was a die hard Republican. They never will get it, so, I suggest that we just see Eastwood's appearance for what it isn't.
