I gotta friend who was a state's attorney and back when they announced, she was *sure* of it.
I think they were witting accomplice's to Russia's rigging, and took lots of cash for their coffers.
But something struck me as Trey 'Gestapo' Gowdy descended those steps that fateful day...he looked defeated...and damned if she wasn't right.

Just the amazing amount of subtle intrigue and Lobbyist corruption is in it's self a another story. Do remember him telling us the reason he was no doing another Reelection,we were taken aback about his reasoning. The Present Congress Person in that District is a real thug. Nuf said.

Richard Nixon,Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn used this Statute as their basis for the Commie Monkey Trials of the early fifties.

(32,645 posts)Or maybe it was something else. Remember back in 2016 when Chump won most of the primaries and basically sewed up the Republican nomination before the convention? Except Ryan refused to endorse Chump for about 2 weeks, he hemmed and hawed about it. A bunch of secret meetings with McConnell and others, and suddenly, poof! Ryan was on board with Chump as the Republican nominee. Just like that.
Whatever took place in those secret meetings, you KNOW they made some kind of deal. I don't know about Gowdy, but definitely Ryan got something in exchange for his lukewarm endorsement of Chump.

(9,481 posts)Russia has the GOP by their tiny nads. When they hacked the RNC the stuff the Russians got onthe Republicans was a treasure trove compared the weaksauce stuff they got from the RNC.
The WI gang (Priebus, Ryan, Walker, Johnson) were probably all exposed thanks to Priebus being in the RNC driver seat. It explains why Walker quit so early in 2016 (actually he quit in 2015). Does anyone really believe that Walker ran out on money? Johnson celebrates the 4th of July in Moscow, and Ryan shuts down McCarthy when McCarthy speculates Trump is being paid by the Russians.

That Ryan hushed (McCarthy said he thought Rohrbacher and Trump we're being paid by Putin). Occasionally McCarthy has a brain fart and let's the truth slip out, which is why they made Ryan speaker instead of McCarthy.
Unless you are referring to some other event that I am not awarebof.
