NH Primary Source: Talk at RNC meeting of recruiting Lewandowski to run for US Senate

WMUR-TV

GOP sources tell New Hampshire Primary Source that President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager is the subject of serious discussion about being recruited to run for the U.S. Senate at a Republican National Committee meeting underway this week in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lewandowski, a Windham resident, could not be reached for comment about the prospect of zeroing in on the seat held by Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who’s seeking a third term next year.

If Lewandowski actually does decide to run, with his close ties to Trump, he would emerge as the frontrunner in a Republican Senate primary currently shaping up among former New Hampshire House Speaker Bill O’Brien and retired Brig. Gen. Donald Bolduc, both of whom have announced candidacies, and attorney Bryant Messner, who is exploring a run and is expected to become a candidate in the coming weeks.

He’d also have at his disposal virtually unlimited funds, given his national profile and Trump-related associations.

But a Trumper would likely just make the race a blowout. So... come on down Lewandowski.
