Trump congratulates Little League champions: 'See you at the White House!'

President Trump on Sunday night congratulated the champions of the 2019 Little League World Series and invited the team from Louisiana to the White House.

The East Bank Little League team from suburban New Orleans beat Curacao 8-0 on Sunday to win the championship title.

Trump's invitation came after House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) called for his home state team to make a trip to Washington, D.C.

The Hill has reached out to the team and the White House for comment about the potential visit.

Ordinarily, a President's schedule would be filled for weeks to come. This guy's got time to spare, though he'd have to give up some TV time to welcome these kids and pose for the photos.

Typically, they don't happen immediately. For example, Obama met with the 2014 US Little League champions in November of that year.
