New: Wisconsin GOP Rep. Sean Duffy is resigning from Congress

He is resigning because his wife is expecting a baby who has been diagnosed with medical issues. So, not a scandal this time?

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a scandal involved. That's the usual reason, although it could also be a reading of writing on the wall. I haven't seen any polls on this asshole, but it's possible that he's destined to lose his seat next November.

7. This is a good reason for leaving if it is true. But the baby isn't even born yet! And I hope

he has enough money to not have to work.

I guess what I am saying is, it looks a little suspicious. I hope their baby is OK.

If they have been told by doctors that there is a problem, they will face many challenges when the birth happens. It would be wise to prepare as much as possible before hand to deal with the issue. Also, after a quick look at wikipedia, he and his wife have 8 other children.

The life of a Congressman, that requires they reside in the district and spend a large amount of time in DC has to be very tough for any family. Whether the family actually lives in the DC area and maintains a voting address and returns often enough to keep the constituents happy or if the family lives in district and the Congressman spends at least 4 days a week in DC -- this would be hard and the wife is almost a single parent. Adding a child with medical problems would likely make it impossible.

Duffy posted on his Facebook page Monday that he is resigning on Sept. 23 to spend more time with his family. Duffy says that he recently learned that his ninth child due in October has a heart condition and "will need even more love, time, and attention due to complications."

when he moved from Hayward to Wausau. His District was Gerrymandered just for him by the Wisconsin GOP in order to get rid of Dave Obe. There is a ton more going on.
