have no doubt that Trump would like to "declare" a victory at some point (true or false, makes no diff to this administration). But you have to remember that this guy has REALLY pi**ed off the Chinese government, and REALLY damaged their economy. I'm thinking that China won't be be willing to do anything that benefits trade with the US .. until they see a new administration. The Chinese play the long game, and geo-politically there's a huge amount of credo in "teaching the yanks a lesson" .. both in terms of real power, and in "face."
