time instead of what they did when we invaded Iraq based on a lie.
While I am not saying Iran was or was not involved in the SA pipeline bombing, it really makes no sense why Iran would do it.
It is curious though that SA and the OPEC countries have been trying to do things to increase the price of oil, and those efforts were not working when this comes along. It is also curious that this administration has been trying to remove all off-shore oil drilling protections, and environmental protections, and with the popularity of this administration at current low, this could not have come at a more perfect time for them
In the past, even under bush, I never felt we were going to engage militarily with Iran. I have a different feeling about this though, and I think the odds are very high that there will be military action against Iran, and I think the consequences could be very wide reaching.
By the way, I hope my speculation is wrong

If they bomb Iran, all hell will break loose in the markets.

He doesn't have the required ability to focus and he doesn't have any follow-through
Another US war in the Middle East would require allies; but Crazy Don doesn't know very much about working with others
Leading a country into war also requires credibility. Crazy Don can't utter a coherent sentence, let alone put one coherent sentence after another; so he needs a mouthpiece. Who would that be? Who has enough credibility on the street? Is Kelly-Ann going to tell us it's time to avenge the ghosts of Bowling Green?

(19,993 posts)I have no doubt that when George Tenet declared that the Bush/Cheney WMD story was a "slam dunk case" there were analysts in the halls of the IC who knew better but couldn't/wouldn't/didn't say anything for whatever reason. Let's hope they never do that again.
